The Práctica is your opportunity to practice what you’ve been learning in class, refresh your technique.
Beginners are very welcome and help is available from teachers of the day and experienced dancers if required.

Doors open at 7 pm to change your shoes and for the warm up.

We start at 7:15 with a 30 min class ($5) to extend the dance vocabulary and suggest some ideas for practicing. Continue with X-Practica ($5) till 9:30 exchanging knowledge/roles/partners.

All levels are welcome. Hot drinks and cookies.

The weekend workshops will be complemented by a Milonga on Friday night (with live music), and a concert on Saturday night. It will be a full weekend of Tango immersion.

Astor Piazzolla was more than a composer—he was a revolutionary of tango. Born in Argentina and deeply connected to Buenos Aires, he transformed a traditional genre into a powerful, modern, and universal expression, blending tango with jazz and classical music. Respected worldwide, his music captures the passion, melancholy, and soul of Buenos Aires, continuing to inspire musicians and dancers to this day.

It is precisely this legacy that Revenge Tango, from Argentina, brings to life in a powerful and immersive tribute, redefining the boundaries of contemporary tango. Formed by Argentine musicians on piano and bandoneón, the duo offers a raw, dynamic, and deeply expressive interpretation of Piazzolla’s work, blending written composition with improvisation and the energy of live performance.

Following a successful Australian tour, they present this striking program in the beautiful St Mary’s College Hall, designed for attentive listening and emotional impact. Tango Company NZ proudly brings Revenge Tango to New Zealand for the first time, offering audiences a rare chance to experience the intensity and modern spirit of Argentine tango live.
