We have next year's dates for you!!

19th - 25th JUNE 2024.


First off, a massive MUCHAS GRACIAS for your continued support of the New Zealand Tango Festival. Getting the festival back on its feet after the covid hiatus was not without stress but seeing everyone back together on the dance floor, in classes and the warm energy in the plaza at Te Whaea made it all worthwhile! We feel completely re-invigorated by the experience and ready to do it all again for you next year. 🥂 Especially as 2024 is a bit special! 


New Zealand Tango Festival: 20 Years & Counting! 🥳We are calling you all to join us for next year because New Zealand Tango Festival is having a milestone birthday!! We will be dancing to celebrate our 20th edition of the festival. We are the longest running tango festival in Australasia. From our earliest beginnings at the Chateaux with Heidi Hughes to the current day, our longevity is testament to the high esteem the festival is held in. We know this because so many of you return year after year.

This isn't just another year; it's our 20th Anniversary and trust us, it's going to be monumental!


A Special Return: Michael & Elvira 💃🕺

Thanks to all of you who the took time to send us such great feed back about your experiences in the immersion courses and workshops of Michael & Elvira. I know you will agree we all witnessed something very special watching their sublime performance on Friday night. I overheard someone say Michael and Elvira's performance "carved music into the air " So we are very thrilled to announce they will return in 2024. 

📣 Express Your Interest Now!

Given the immense demand for Michael & Elvira this year, we'd love to gauge your interest early on for 2024. This will let us know if we need to explore the possibility of offering an extra immersion course. We keep these classes small for optimal learning. If you are interested to do an immersion course with Michael & Elvira in 2024 please let us know by sending a quick email.

This year's immersions were snapped up in record time! If you're keen to dive deep into the dance, be sure to register immediately when we open in December. We're talking two hours for some and 48 hours for others!

 

🎥 Call for a Talented Videographer! 📹

We're on the lookout for a volunteer with a keen eye for filming and editing. It's a chance to work up-close with our international maestros and play a pivotal role in showcasing the festival's magic. Plus, being a charitable trust, every bit of help keeps the spirit of tango alive and burning in New Zealand! If you think you have the skills drop us a line
